Terms and Conditions 2023

Licensing and Pit Pass

  1. All applications MUST be a member of a VSC affiliated club
  2. Licences are not generally issued ‘on the spot’. Please allow 10 working days for the application to be processed.
  3. Fill out all the details required correctly so that there is no delay in processing your application.
  4. All new applications for a licence need a VSC Medical Form.
  5. All applications for Pit Crew need no other paperwork.
  6. All applicants must be a member of a civil ambulance, hold a health care card or have private health insurance that includes ambulance cover.
  7. If you wish to change the club on your current licence/registration, you must provide a club clearance from your former club.
  8. The competition entitles you to participate in any authorised competition under the jurisdiction of the VSC.
  9. Licences are valid until the 30th of June in each year unless removed by an infringement.
  10. A VSC licence cannot be applied for unless the applicant is aged 16 years and over.
  11. A VSC Junior licence cannot be applied for unless the applicant is aged over 10 years and under 17 years. If the applicant obtains the age of 16 years, the holder is eligible to finish the season on this junior licence even if he/she attains the age of 17 years during the season. If the applicant upgrades to a senior licence a new fee is payable.
  12. A Pit Crew pass cannot be applied for unless the applicant is aged 12 years and over.
  13. For One Day Licence applications, the applicant must be a member of a VSC affiliated club, must be a member of a current ambulance scheme, have a healthcare/pension card or private health insurance with ambulance cover, proof required. Proof of membership may be required if club issues a One Day Licence on race day. Maximum 2 per season.

Exclusion of Liability

Except to the extent that terms are implied into a contract for the sale of goods and services by the Trades Practices Act 1974 or other legislation, and cannot by contract be excluded, I agree that in consideration of being allowed to participate in Speedway Activities of the VSC, that the VSC and its Directors, Officers, Employees, agents or contractors are absolved from all liability however arising from any injury or damage however caused (whether fatal or otherwise) due to any act of negligence to the fullest extent permitted by law (other than gross negligence), breach of duty, default and/or omission on the part of the VSC.

Release and Indemnity

In consideration of the VSC providing me with a licence, which entitles me to engage in Speedway Activities of the VSC, I by signing this application agree to:

  1. Release and forever discharge the VSC its directors, officers, employees, agents or contractors from all actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, losses, damages, penalties, fines, costs and expenses however arising that I may have or may have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my involvement in Speedway Activities of the VSC.
  2. Indemnify the VSC its directors, officers, employees, agents, or contractors to the extent permitted under the Trades Practice Act 1974 or otherwise by law in respect of any actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, losses, damages, penalties, fines, costs and expenses, arising as a result of or in connection with my involvement in Speedway Activities of the VSC whether caused or contributed to, directly or indirectly, by any act of negligence to the fullest extent permitted by law (other than gross negligence), breach of duty, default and/or omission on the part of the VSC.

Warning and Acknowledgement of Risks, Dangers

I acknowledge that speedway racing is dangerous and serious accidents can and do happen which may result in me being injured or my death. By signing this form, I declare that I have voluntarily read and understood this Warning, the Exclusion of Liability and the Release and Indemnity sections and that I accept and assume the risk of injury from participating in speedway racing or participating in any activity carried out by the VSC (‘Speedway Activities’)

Fitness to Participate

I declare that I am medically and physically fit and free from impairment and able to participate in Speedway Activities. I have undertaken or will undertake all necessary medical and/or fitness assessments and examinations required.

State Title Nominations

  1. Minimum Nomination Requirements
    1. If a class has less than 20 cars registered with the Victorian Speedway Council Inc. at the close of nominations, then a minimum of 12 nominations for that class must be received, with 12 confirmed nominations on race day to constitute a State Title.
      This includes Junior and Ladies Standard Saloon titles which are exempt from 1.2
    2. If a class has more than 20 cars registered with the Victorian Speedway Council Inc. at the close of nominations, then a minimum of 15 nominations for that class must be received, with 15 confirmed nominations on race day to constitute a State Title.
  2. Roof Numbers
    1. In the event of 2 cars nomination with the same number, the VSC will allocate a roof number as close as possible to the cars’ actual number.
      Preference will go first to the home track car, then as nominations are received.
  3. All other requirements as per State policy and the VSC Inc. Racing Rules & Regulation Manual.
  4. Transponders are mandatory for every state title.
  5. Nomination Fee
    1. A nomination fee of $90 per entry, including transponder hire, is to be paid with the nomination. This fee is refundable if you withdraw from the title no later than 48 hours prior to the event date.
      If you have your own transponder, the fee is $60 and your transponder number must be entered at the time of nomination.
    2. Late nominations will be required to a pay non-refundable fee of $150, including transponder hire. Late nominations will not be accepted 72 hours before the event.
      If you have your own transponder, the fee is $120 and your transponder number must be entered at the time of nomination.
  6. All safety gear to be compliant in specification, date, and condition.
    Non-compliant safety gear will be confiscated with a fine required to be paid before non-compliant safety gear being returned.
    Non-compliant safety gear will result in the driver being excluded from the event – Rule #6 Victorian Speedway Council Inc. Racing Rules & Regulation Manual.
  7. Any car found to have any performance-enhancing modification at scrutineering will be deemed illegal and will be excluded from the event – Rule # 11.25 Victorian Speedway Council Inc. Racing Rules & Regulation Manual.
  8. The VSC Inc. in conjunction with the promoting body reserves the right to accept or reject any nomination.
